Andy Black is the Pathway Leader for Fine Art on the Extended Diploma in Creative Practice course. Originally from North Wales, Andy studied a BA in Fine Art at the Cardiff School of Art and MA Painting at the Royal College of Art, London. Andy has taught in further and higher education for 20 years and joined the team at Leeds Arts University in 2017.

Andy’s creative practice involves constructing drawings and paintings using an index of forms. He makes works on paper in the main but more recently has used these forms to make paintings and large-scale wall drawings. Andy exhibits his work regularly and his work has been selected for the Jerwood/ Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize.
