Mary works as a lecturer on the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course. Alongside her teaching practice, she is studying towards an MA at the Art Lab Contemporary Print Studios at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston. Her practice investigates colour balancing and ink behaviour when painted or pulled through the screen. Mary’s work explores the mechanical process of screen-printing, off-setting it with digital and hand-made positives. Intrigued by the intricacies of the surfaces and imagery that can be created, Mary works to refine new processes, applying them to her photography, drawings and collages to create screen prints and collagraphs.
Mary studied at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle upon Tyne and at ArtEZ hogeschool voor de kunsten in Enschede, Netherlands. After graduating, she worked as a graphic designer at Design Bridge Amsterdam, Cai and Kyn London and Mothercare.
