Fashion Design student’s brand celebrates second birthday

BA (Hons) Fashion Design

Fings by Floss, a sustainable fashion brand created by final year BA (Hons) Fashion Design student Floss Tuppen, celebrated its second anniversary with an event held at Hyde Park Book Club, Leeds.

Floss started Fings two years ago in her student halls of residence, crafting handmade scarves as Christmas gifts for friends and family using repurposed fabrics.

Interest in her work quickly grew, first capturing the attention of local customers and soon after renowned fashion publications such as Vogue and New Wave Magazine. Despite the demand for her handmade garments, Floss has remained true to her sustainable ethos, using second-hand fabrics gathered everywhere from charity shops to her grandfathers’ wardrobe!

“The event was a small repayment celebration, for the beautiful community that holds up Fings. I began the brand two years ago out of my halls; needing a stress-free creative outlet outside of my degree. Fings has grown much wider than just a sustainable clothing brand, it’s now surrounded by a net of like-minded humans.”
