Illustration graduate longlisted for World Illustration Awards 2024

Recent BA (Hons) Illustration graduate, Elly Bazigos, has been longlisted for the Association of Illustrators' World Illustration Awards 2024 for their work ‘Ticket to New Briggate’.
Elly’s work comes under the Site-Specific category of the longlist, having been commissioned by East Street Arts to focus on New Briggate, Leeds.
"This was a dream brief for me, I love to combine history with illustration. New Briggate was created as a widening of the historic St. John’s Street before, to accommodate workers commuting from home to factories. This inspired me to explore the history of the street through transportation, from trams in the late 19th century to being fully pedestrianised in 2022."

The World Illustration Awards longlist consists of five hundred artists from over five thousand applications, with the final award winners announced in September 2024.
"I am thrilled to be recognised by the Association of Illustrators in such a prestigious international competition."
