BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Photography students showcased their work at Graduate Fashion Week 2024. The students are already making an impact with invitations to participate in catwalk shows, award nominations and exhibitions.
Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) is an annual showcase of students graduating from 26 different fashion disciplines. Held every June at the Truman Brewery, London, GFW attracts thousands of guests with a packed schedule of catwalk shows, university exhibitions, talks, masterclasses and workshops from leading names in the fashion and retail industry. It represents the future of creative design talent and showcases the work of over 3,000 of the very best fashion graduates each year.
BA (Hons) Fashion Design students Eli Heijink, Millie Connor, Grace Lyon and Niamh Haughey showed work from their collections on the catwalk as part of the Graduate Fashion Week Collective show on Thursday 13 June to a live audience and via live stream here.
Grace Lyon was named a catwalk winner after showing her collection in the 'Best of GFW' collective show.
Heather Sprowson, BA (Hons) Fashion Design won the Fashion Design Portfolio Award.
BA (Hons) Fashion Design Course Leader Nicola Knight says of the wins: "They are really competitive and high profile awards to win so we are really happy and proud. "

Eli Heijnk and Tegan Hellings, BA (Hons) Fashion Design: The Inclusive Fashion Award supported by Snag
Nina Cazalet-Smith and Lizzie Lenthall, BA (Hons) Fashion Photography: Fashion Moving Image Award
Heather Sprowson was also been selected for the Sustainable Exhibition and Helena Luke for the Class of 2024 Exhibition, both held during Graduate Fashion Week.
Maisie Bullock was selected to have a meeting with the design teams at River Island, Debenhams and Next on the Graduate Fashion Foundation 2024 Portfolio day.
“We are really excited to present the amazing work and celebrate our class of 2024 at upcoming end of year showcases both here in Leeds and at Graduate Fashion Week in London. The work achieved this year is very individual with a real focus on silhouette, detail and exciting materials. We are very proud of all our students’ achievements throughout their three years and we hope they have all really enjoyed their time at Leeds Arts Uni.”
Graduate Fashion Week 2024 will be held at the Truman Brewery, London from 11-13 June.
