Marketing Communications students collaborate with BBH labs

BA (Hons) Marketing Communications

Two BA (Hons) Marketing Communications students have had their articles published by creative agency BBH on their research and development website, BBH Labs.

BBH Labs position themselves as 'research and development for the creative industry', publishing topical articles from creative professionals. Leeds Arts University and BBH Labs enjoy an ongoing partnership, with BA (Hons) Marketing Communications students producing fresh takes for BBH's audience.

"Since 2008, BBH Labs' mission has been to challenge the industry's biases and conventions with razor-sharp thinking. That's why we love partnering with Leeds Arts University. It's fantastic to be able to give a platform to some of the brightest, young minds in advertising."

Final year students Ellie Harrison and Chris Aschmann are the latest to have work published by the site.

Chris's piece, Help! Robots are stealing my brain, explores the threat of AI on the creative industries and a potential solution, using a stamp to authenticate work, enabling artists to indentify their work as 'human made'.

"It feels amazing to have live work published, like all the pieces falling into place."

Ellie's article muses on on how screens have killed our collective attention spans, with her surprising solution for doomscrolling, 'Screentime Well Spent'.

"Getting my work out there is an amazing feeling, and knowing that people in the industry see what I can do and how passionate I am is even better."

BBH Labs are a part of the creative agency, Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), an agency that creates work for global brands such as Aldi and Tesco.

"This year, the writing was as strong as ever, and you can really feel the passion the students have for their themes. Chris and Ellie's articles hit on a winning combination: sharply defined problems with surprising and elegant creative solutions."
